Our School Programs

Our School Workshops stress positive awareness education as a prevention program against self-defeating behaviors and belief systems. Classroom and assembly workshops cover topics including feelings, decision making, coping skills, conflict resolution, anger management, drug and alcohol information, physical and sexual abuse.Positively Yours, Inc. is a registered New Jersey Department of Education Level Two Professional Development Provider. Trainings for each of the school programs are held throughout the year, with Professional Development Activity Hours awarded upon completion.

BABES - Beginning Awareness Alcohol & Addictions Basic Education Studies Program

BABES is a PreK-12 prevention program designed to give children a lifetime of protection from substance abuse by assisting young people to develop positive living skills.BABES is a classic present day application of affirmative life principles. The curriculum enables children to develop a desire for healthful living and gives them the ability to better understand how to protect themselves from alcohol and chemical dependency situations among their peers and within the family structure. BABES provides them with accurate, non-judgmental information about the use of alcohol and other drugs.

The information is presented in a manner designed to gain the attention of children using storytelling, 8 bright, colorful puppets, flash cards and songs. 8 session topics include feelings, self-esteem, decision making, peer pressure, coping skills, drug & alcohol information, living in a chemically dependent home, and enslavement and stereotyping.

Positively Yours, Inc., a New Jersey Godparent Agency for Babesworld Home

Positively Yours, Inc., a New Jersey Godparent Agency for Babesworld Home, conducts a two or three day training (depending on the number of participants) that certifies participants to present the program to children. The cost of the training is $250.00 per person for registration and $550.00 (plus 10% shipping) for the kit of puppets and all materials necessary to successfully present the program.The above picture is the facilitators from our training on February 17 & 18, 2005 in Delran, New Jersey. The next scheduled training for 2007 is  August 27th and 28th in Brigantine, NJ, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

The training may also be presented at your facility with a minimum of 5 prepaid registrants, along with air travel or mileage, a two-day per diem and motel stay for the trainer.

Positively Yours, Inc. is a registered Level Two Provider with the New Jersey Department of Education. Upon completion of the training, participants will receive documentation for 17 hours of Professional Development Activity.

TEG -Tobacco Education Group Program

TEG - Tobacco Education Group - Intervening with Teen Tobacco Users is an 8 session research-based curriculum used as an alternative to suspension for students who violate a school’s tobacco policy. The program teaches the dangers and negative consequences of tobacco use, (cigarettes, cigars and chewing tobacco), and encourages teens to adopt healthier lifestyles, move closer to quitting and enroll in a voluntary cessation program.Positively Yours, Inc., in conjunction with Community Intervention, a Minnesota based training and publishing organization, conducts a two day training annually to implement the program. Tuition is $395 and includes the complete curricula for both the TAP and TEG programs.

TAP - Tobacco Awareness Program

TAP - Helping Teens Stop Using Tobacco, is a research-based curriculum that provides students with the options, resources, education, motivation and support to stop using tobacco, (cigarettes, cigars and chewing tobacco). What sets this 8-session, voluntary program apart from other cessation programs is the motivational components that work together to help students take the necessary action steps to quit.Positively yours, Inc., in conjunction with Community Intervention, a Minnesota based training and publishing organization, conducts a two day training annually to implement the program. Tuition is $395 and includes the complete curricula for both the TAP and TEG programs.

Safe Passage - Violence Intervention Program

Safe Passage Violence Intervention Program is a 12 Session curriculum that addresses practical steps to reduce aggression, limit avoidable, destructive conflict and prevent violence. Students learn to become aware of their aggression, develop skills to deal with their feelings and make decisions about what further help they need to continue the positive changes made in the group.Positively yours, Inc., in conjunction with Community Intervention, a Minnesota based training and publishing organization, conducts a two day training annually to implement the program. Tuition for the training and complete curriculum is $295.

Positively Yours, Inc. is a registered Level Two Provider with the New Jersey Department of Education. Upon completion of the training, participants will receive documentation for 14 hours of Professional Development Activity.

Project ALERT - The Middle Grade Substance Abuse Program that Works!

Project ALERT has been designated an Exemplary Model Program. It dramatically reduces both the onset and regular use of substances among middle grade youth. Presented by trained personnel, the two-year, fourteen-lesson program focuses on the substances that adolescents are most likely to use: alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and inhalants.Project ALERT uses participatory activities and videos to help motivate adolescents against drug use, teach the skills and strategies needed to resist pro-drug pressures and establish non-drug-using norms.

Guided classroom discussions and small group activities stimulate peer interaction and challenge students beliefs and perceptions, while intensive role-playing activities help students learn and master resistance skills. Parent-involved homework assignments extend the learning.

BABES KIDS

Beginning Alcohol and Addictions Basic Education Studies for Kids in Development is an activity-based prevention/support group model for use with children aged 7-13, from alcoholic and other drug-dependent homes. It is a 12-week activity based small group, co-facilitated with a licensed counselor if possible. Parent permission is needed. BABES KIDS uses puppets, stories, role-playing and other activities to educate, build resiliency and guide children through the process of self-awareness. Puppets are used throughout BABES KIDS to personify the personalities and characters of those persons living in chemically-dependent homes, as well as those key people involved in the treatment of the family.
